What clients want to see
- That someone looked after the website this month, and what they did.
- Whether anything went wrong, and whether it is fixed.
- That a backup exists and can be restored.
- What will happen next month, and anything the client needs to decide.
The template, section by section
- Summary: the month, the website, an overall status in one sentence and anything the client must act on.
- Updates applied: CMS core, plugins or themes, server or hosting changes, with dates.
- Backups: the date of the last successful backup and of the last restore test.
- Availability: any downtime you know of and what caused it.
- Security checks: the date of the check, what was found, what was fixed, which fixes a rescan confirmed, and what is still open with a plan.
- Work requested by the client: what was asked, what was done.
- Next month: planned work and decisions needed from the client.
- Notes and limits: what the checks cover and what they do not.
Filling the security section
Run a passive scan of the website (only one you are authorized to assess), list the findings by priority, fix what you can, then rescan. Record each finding as resolved, partly resolved, still observed or unable to verify. NeoShield does this for you: the report summary and the Verify Fix results can go straight into this section. Add one honest line on limits: a passive check of public configuration is not a penetration test, and a clean result does not prove there are no vulnerabilities.
Download
Word files you can edit and brand as your own. The English and Japanese versions have the same eight sections.
